The E-bike project, an employee-led initiative within the 4E Project, GIZ Viet Nam to support environmental and health protection was launched in April this year. The project contributes to the reduction of GHG and VOCs emissions, all the while supporting local e-mobility start-ups.

Initially, a survey was conducted among the Energy Support Programme, to which 85% of the respondents showed their interest in using an e-bike. Following the survey results, the management was convinced to give the green light to the E-bike project. 02 e-bikes purchased from a local start-up are provided as an alternative to conventional vehicles for employees’ business trips within the city. Until now, more than 500 km have been travelled and 90% of emissions have been reduced compared to using car.

The project members also produced a light-hearted video to encourage people to embrace the use of electric bicycles at work and in their daily lives. Against the backdrop of rising air pollution, the main character in the video has messaged us a positive attitude: She went to a clean energy meeting with an electric bicycle. What is better than just being cool? – It is being cool while also protecting the environment. Thus, “Electric Bike makes you cool”.
