National Logistics Policy – The Road ahead for Integrated Best-in-class Infrastructure Development

GIZ’s Green Freight Project provided technical support to the Warehousing Association of India (WAI) for orgnasing a day-long conference on “National Logistics Policy – The road ahead for integrated best-in-class Infrastructure development” held on 11th November 2022 at Oberoi Hotel, New Delhi.

The conference was organised to disseminate the findings of the recently launched “E-handbook on Warehousing Standards” which was released by Hon’ble Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi during the National Logistics Policy launch event.

GIZ’s Green Freight Project was instrumental in the development of E-handbook on Warehousing Standards. The handbook is a first compilation which includes the existing standards that are issued by the standards agencies such as the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) and the Warehousing Development and Regulatory Authority (WDRA), and wherever there are gaps those have been identified and suggestions have been made thereof. The E-Handbook envisages to act as an enabling and guiding document for facility operators, owners, developers and regulatory agencies to identify and implement facility and sector specific standards. This document intends to facilitate in improved performance of the logistics ecosystem.

The event was attended by 150+ participants and saw representation from relevant government stakeholders, industry members and multi-lateral and bi-laterals.
