Hosted by EuroCharm Viet Nam, the Green Economy Forum and Exhibition (GEFE) 2022 took place on 28-30 November 2022 in Ho Chi Minh City. The event’s primary objective was to support Viet Nam in achieving its COP26 commitments and the socio-economic development goals specified in its National Green Growth Strategy for 2021-2030.
With the ‘Just Energy Transition and Digital Transformation’ booth, as a part of German Pavilion at the GEFE, GIZ introduced the audience with key activities in the field of renewable energy, energy efficiency, smart grids and vocational trainings in Viet Nam, highlighted our partnership with private companies and offered opportunities to local businesses for further technical cooperation.
GIZ welcomed Dr. Nicole Glanemann – Deputy Head of Division Bilateral Energy Cooperation, German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK), and hundreds of visitors to the booth. The guests learnt about GIZ’s work through informative presentations and videos, vivid VR-mode experiences, instructive publications and brief discussions with our experts.
The Energy Support Programme (ESP) and the Programme Reform of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Viet Nam set up the booth. The former promotes the expansion of renewables and the increase of energy efficiency to support Viet Nam to meet its steadily growing energy demand. The latter aims at better aligning the TVET system to the changing world of work which is increasingly green and digital.
