Low Carbon Sea Transport (LCST) has celebrated with their partners to the success of new construction manuals for two new innovative designs of the Marshallese canoe.
Held at the Waan Aelõñ in Majel (WAM) premises, the event showcased the Lagoon Component of the Low Carbon Sea Transport Project. The celebration underscored the activities aimed at reducing emissions in the maritime sector, with WAM playing an important role in preserving and documenting the traditional canoeing culture of the Marshall Islands. The event, organised in collaboration with WAM, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and National Energy Office (NEO), highlighted the importance of sustainable maritime practices and the Pacific Community’s commitment to climate action.
