An annual event on the occasion of World Fisheries Day 2023 was organized by College of Fisheries, Raha, Assam to unite the scientist, researchers, fish farmers, Aqua-entrepreneurs, social workers to promote the fisheries sector by bringing innovative ideas and new models that will helps farmers, and also with an aim to conserve the natural biodiversity or resources. On 20 and 21 November 2023 the event included a diverse range of activities such as Knowledge Conclave, Fish Farmers’ Fair, Food Festival, panel discussion and networking sessions along with the celebrations.
GIZ along with its partner Kalong Kapili showcased its stall about the pilot project on integration of Decentralised Renewable Energy (DRE) technologies in Aquaculture and Fisheries sector of Assam. The aim was to encourage fish farmers to practice sustainable aquaculture using DRE technologies. There were discussions with stakeholders for collaboration and convergence with DRE technologies. Different IEC materials (brochures, posters and leaflet) developed for the GIZ projects to strengthen the Fish Value Chain in Assam were displayed.
