Disposal in public places, inactive use of garbage collection services, and improper storage or packaging of waste are significant challenges that the district administration must respond to responsibly and effectively. As a long-term solution, the district administration cooperated with the GIZ’s ISD Programme to issue the Deika of waste collection fee and solid waste management (SWM). The draft Deika was discussed and recommended by the sub-committee of waste management as well as the multi-consultation meeting was organized with different stakeholders such as local authorities, private sectors, NGOs, household members, business owners, Women and Children Consultative Committee, citizens, and public institution with the total participation of 222 (female: 60). Based on multi-stakeholder input on the draft Deika, the district council approved the Deika in their meeting to improve the aesthetics and well-being of the citizens.
