Household members are holding their certificate.

To address the waste issue in the community, the GIZ’s ISD programme supports districts/municipalities to establish sub-committees to improve waste management. The sub-committee members are committed to empowering individual households that have taken the initiative to improve their waste-handling practices!

By recognizing their efforts, they were acknowledged and awarded to individual households for their contributions to a cleaner, healthier environment, fostering community, and inclusivity, and encouraging others to join the plastic-free Tonle Sap movement. To provide an incentive for good practice, the village chief delivered certificates of appreciation to 306 citizens (155 female) in Kampong Kleang Village, Soutr Nikom District.

We can significantly protect this crucial ecosystem for future generations by implementing collective action and practical solutions.
