National Post-Harvest & Logistics Summit

CII’s Food and Agriculture Centre of Excellence (FACE) with support from GIZ’s Green Freight project organized “National Post-Harvest and Logistics Summit” at Mumbai on 30th November 2022 to discuss innovations, business models and best practices adopted by organizations to mitigate food loss and minimize impact on environment. The summit was attended by 100+ participants and saw representation from central ministeries, public sector undertakings, industries, industry – associations and policy think-tanks.

Speaking at a summit Dr. Surender Ahirwar, Joint Secretary, Logistics Division, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), expressed the sharp focus adopted by the government in addressing demand and supply side logistics issues in major user sectors such as food sector in India.

During the summit protocols  for Cold Chain were launched, these  were for i) Storage Protocol for fruits and vegetables; ii) Logistics Protocols and iii) Storage Protocols for Frozen Foods.
