The workshop welcomed speakers from the GIZ, Wuppertal Institute (Germany), the Institute for Essential Services Reform (Indonesia), Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology (Thailand) and India Just Transition Centre International Forum for Environment, Sustainability & Technology.
As the introduction, “Just Transition Toolbox for coal regions” was briefly presented to give practitioners an overview of the guidance material. This Toolbox has been developed by the Wuppertal Institute to be a comprehensive compendium of experiences and good practices with references and links to existing world-wide handbooks, tools and guidelines. The main part of the workshop includes the sharing of insights and experience of experts on their respective countries’ just transition status quo, as well as the challenges to be faced up with in the future. The experts also have chances to exchange opinions and address the concerns of the participants.
