Referring to the Law No. 22 of 2009 regarding Road Traffic and Transport which stipulates the operator’s responsibility to ensure public transport services for the community, the Ministry of Transportation invited SUTRI NAMA & INDOBUS and other counterparts to Batam on 30 May 2023 for a technical assistance meeting. The event aimed to synergise roles and functions between agencies and institutions as well as prepare the handover of the management of the Buy the Service scheme to 10 local governments. The event primarily comprised of presentations from experts as a guide for the local governments, with SUTRI NAMA & INDOBUS also contributing to delivering material regarding alternative funding for transport. The materials presented during the event are expected to help local governments optimising their public transport development activities.
