The first Regional Energy Transition Dialogue was organised by the Philippines Department of Energy and Clean, Affordable and Secure Energy for Southeast Asia project, under the theme “Ensuring a Just and Equitable Energy Transition” from 18 – 20 July 2023 in Manila, the Philippines. Attended by high-ranking government officials from CASE countries, including Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Viet Nam, the event aimed to provide a space for policy dialogue amongst the four CASE countries on energy transition issues to exchange experiences and best practices. The event helped leverage regional cooperation in SEA towards clean, affordable, and secure energy transition.

Invited participants were from government agencies in the four countries, including Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (Indonesia, Ministry of National Development Planning (Indonesia); Department of Energy (the Philippines), National Economics and Development Authority (the Philippines); Ministry of Energy (Thailand), The Office of the National Economic and Social Development Council (Thailand); Ministry of Industry and Trade (Viet Nam), and Vietnam National Assembly (Viet Nam).
