September 20th, conference “Just Energy Transition = Job Accelerator for Viet Nam? German-Vietnamese perspectives on employment and skills needs” engaged the direct and virtual participation of nearly 500 delegates for analysis and evaluation of the values that Energy Transition has been bringing to Vietnam’s economic development as well as the labor market.
German experiences show that energy transition is a huge opportunity to create new decent jobs and to transform coal regions for the benefit of the people. National and international experts discussed the needs and approaches to transform Vietnam’s Vocational Education and Training system towards the requirements of the energy transition. Vietnam, along with the international community, committed to strive for the carbon neutrality target by 2050 and pursue a just energy transition.
The Conference hopes to create a forum to bring the topic of Energy Transition associated with Job Transition closer to the public, meanwhile propose breakthrough and comprehensive solutions for this transition progress to ensure fairness for the purpose of “no one is left behind”.
