The GIZ-supported “Improved Service Delivery for Citizens in Cambodia” (ISD) project works with administrations and stakeholders in the three provinces of Banteay Meancheay, Siemreap and Battambang to improve local waste management.

During a total of 3 weeks in August and September 2023, the Cambodian NGO Trash Is Nice conducted a series of GIZ-supported workshops on district- and municipal levels in the three above-mentioned provinces with people from the local administrations, citizens, youth and young entrepreneurs. Under the overall headline “Hands on Plastic”, the experts from Trash is Nice introduced techniques for recycling and transforming used plastic into new products.

Local manufacturers and entrepreneurs are inspired by those low-tech approaches to plastic recycling as a possibility to invent new products that both, create new jobs and new local business opportunities and help to clean the environment from plastic trash for a clean and healthy future.
