Renewable Energy (RE)

“The group has been useful in sharing knowledge and best practices across the region, i.e. existing studies and advisory approaches that have proven successful in project implementation. One of the success stories are the ASEAN RE Guidelines which have been adopted in several countries across the region based on an approach originally developed in India.” - Markus Wypior, Deputy Director of the Indo-German Energy Programme

The TUEWAS Renewable Energy, composed of Rural Energy Subgroup and Grid-connected RE Subgroup, allows networking, information and knowledge exchange and establishes a forum of discussion among peers. Moreover, this WG leverages synergies through joined and coordinated activities between GIZ projects in Asia to strengthen the engagement in the renewable energy sector in this region. The exchange among members of the WG contributes to business development and project acquisition. The WG is divided into 2 subgroups focusing on off-grid RES (Rural Energy Subgroup) and on-grid RES (Grid-connected RE Subgroup).
