In September 2015, world leaders adopted the Global Goals for Sustainable Development to end extreme poverty, fight inequality and injustice and address environmental issues. En route for shared action, these have been laid out into 17 goals and to be achieved by 2030.
Following this call for institutions and organisations to further engage in sharing of best practices and peer learning on a regional level, TUEWAS, together with SNRD Asia (Sector Network Natural Resources and Rural Development Asia), have contributed to this in-depth knowledge exchange and the development of GIZ contributions to implementing the Agenda 2030 in Asia.
In order to achieve this, in June 2016, a taskforce has been jointly established to provide learning, knowledge and information services for better integrated approaches for member projects of TUEWAS and SNRD Asia. During the preparatory period, all projects have been mapped in order to get a clearer picture to what SDG GIZ projects are contributing.
